Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has expressed willingness to drop the cases pending against exiled former premier Nawaz Sharif and other political leaders as part of national reconciliation.
Musharraf told Geo TV in an interview that he wanted to withdraw cases against Sharif as well as leaders of other political parties under the National Reconciliation Ordinance. He said he would retain the post of the army chief till November 15, the date when the national and provincial assemblies complete their tenures.
