Rajkumar’s match high 20 points went in vain as HAL went down 36-49 to MEG in the semifinal league tie of the State-level floodlit invitational basketball tournament for the JSC Cup at the JSC courts here on Wednesday.
For the Sappers, who enjoyed a nine-point lead at half-time, Shridhar was the top-scorer with 16 points. Subbaiah complemented Shridhar by chipping in with 12 points.
Girish scored five points for HAL, but Aircraftmen who went down by 13 points, their second loss.
Meanwhile, in the women’s section, South Western Railway brushed aside Viveks Sports Club 51-28. Rajeshwari and Smitha lead the Railway charge by basketting 14 and 13 points respectively. The winners led 25-17 at the interval and hung on to emerge winners.
Reethu top-scored for the losers with eight points while teammate Sindhu chipped in with seven.
