Reason for clash
The cited reason for vandalism is that the union had refused to accept milk from a few villagers who had come in to deliver the liquid. Enraged by this four people stormed in the dairy premises and vandalised the property. They overturned the milk containers and smashed a few of the things kepts there.
History of the clash
The women’s union has been functioning in the area for about five years now. However due to some controversy, a few of the milk suppliers have shifted their loyalities to private dairies.
The union decided to strike out the names of those who have been suppying milk to private dairies in a general body meeting that was held here last week.
So according to the decision made by the union, the dairy has been refusing milk from these suppliers for the last three days.
These suppliers have been with the diary for nearly four months now.
High tension
The tensions were quite high and it exploded when the arguments reached a feverish pitch between the suppliers and union members.
The suppliers entered the offices and ransacked the place in a fit of anger.
Nearly 40 litres of milk, measuring apparatus, chairs and tables and other property were damanged in the fight.
According to G S Mamtha, secretary of the union, the micreants also made away with the suppliers register and cash that was kept in the cupboard.
She was also injured when the can full of milk fell on her leg.
Before the situtation could get even worse, the local police rushed to the spot and brought it under control.
