The excise department raided an illicit liquor manufacturing unit at Kenkere village near Gouribidanur and seized illicit liquor and materials worth Rs five lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, the excise officials led by the In-charge Circle Inspector Manjula raided the manufacturing unit at a garden belonging to Narayana Reddy. During the raid, they seized duplicated brands of various liquor companies including Raja, OC, Windsorman etc.
They also seized the materials, such as labels, empty bottles and chemical materials. The accused Reddy is absconding and the investigation is on.
The department’s superintendent Jayasimha, Constables Sriramachandra, Laxminarayana and Sundararaj and others took part in the operation.
