Hotelier beaten to death in City
Bangalore, DHNS:
A hotelier was clubbed to death at Puttenahalli, in J P Nagar, on Saturday night.

A six-member gang attacked ‘The Fortuna’ owner Sudhir Naidu (32) and beat him to death with clubs and hockey sticks.

Police said Sreenivasa Murthy alias Bonda came to the hotel in an inebriated state on Friday and demanded food. As restaurant kitchen was closed, they could not serve him food.

An angered Sreenivasa abused the staff. When things went out of control, the staff, including Sudhir, got a blank paper signed by him. Irked over this, Sreenivasa and his friends attacked Sudhir.

The police arrested all the six accused - Sreenivasa, Vishwa, Prakash, Vinay, Chinnu alias Mohan and Gopi.

3 held for hotel brawl
The Madivala police on Sunday arrested three persons on the charge of ransacking a hotel in Madivala. The accused have been identified as Adil, Shakeel and Syed Asgar.

According to the police, Dalit, Backward and Minority Association leader Adil, and his friends Shakeel and Asgar went to Hotel Shanthi Sagar around noon. They picked up a fight with the hotel staff alleging that the fried rice they had ordered was too salty. Shakeel threw the rice plate onto the face of a waiter. The waiter offered him another plate of fresh fried rice. However, Adil refused to accept it and assaulted the hotel staff and even tried to lock them up in a room.

When the hotel staff retaliated Adil sustained minor injuries on his forehead. Within minutes, several of Adil’s friends rushed to the hotel, assaulted the employees and ransacked the hotel. The police rushed to the spot and took Adil for questioning.

Immediately, hundreds of his supporters staged a snap stir in front of the police station demanding his release. They urged the police to arrest the hotel owner immediately. The police resorted to lathi charge when the situation seemed to go out of control.

It is said that the supporters of the accused tried to put pressure on the police as they are reportedly close to a few high profile personalities. Their efforts went in vain as the police arrested the three.

Three cases, including attempt to murder, have been registered against Adil. The hotel management has incurred losses to the tune of Rs 4 lakh.
