Senior Journalist Patil Puttappa on Sunday said that the State Government should take necessary steps to develop Dr M C Modi Hospital and, people should pressurise the government on this issue. The hospital developments should be similar to Minto Hospital, he said.
Speaking at the ‘Founders Day’ celebration and launch of several eye care related service projects, he said that Modi Hospital should provide more medical facilities for people from weaker section. In this direction, the government should come forward to grant more funds without any delay, he added.
Retired Judge Ko Chennabasappa said that Dr M C Modi drew the attention of the world through his service. People would associate Bangalore with Modi even before establishment of IT and BT sector. Further, he said that IT and BT might have developed in the State but it has not benefited the poorer people.
The hospitals play prominent role in providing service to the common man in the society, Mr Chennabasappa said.
