He was addressing a taluk-level officials meeting held at the Taluk Panchayat auditorium, here. Officials of the various Government departments attended the meeting.
Mr Suresh said, if all the officials co-ordinated and worked together with co-operation, then the public would be benefited. The officials should compulsorily reside at the head quarters, they are permitted to live, in order to manage their work more effectively.
“When the chief minister of the State can go for ‘Grama Vastavya,’ then why not the officials should also do the same?,” he questioned.
Under this concept, several problems in the local areas can be solved. The taluk-level officers should spend a minimum of 20 days touring the rural areas in a month, he instructed. He instructed the Education Officers to make honest efforts in trying to ensure that all the basic amenities, required teachers and other facilities, were present in every school in the rural areas, through the various schemes and projects of the Government.
The secretary also expressed his anger against the head mistress of the Government High School of K Raguttahalli in Chintamani taluk, who came to attend her duties, everyday from Bangalore.
He instructed the block education officer to take action against her.
Expressing his displeasure over the functioning of the City Municipal Council, he took the CMC Commissioner Yerrappanavar to task.
Within a span of three months, he instructed the commissioner to take measures to solve the drinking water problem, provide good roads and focus on cleanliness and hygiene. Despite a year past, after the implementation of the drinking water project of the Zilla Panchayat, and yet there was no drinking water supply. Mr Suresh charged the Bescom officials and asked them to take immediate action in this regard.
Some of the private bus transports utilised the national highways in the villages without any permit. Some action should be initiated in this regard, said an official of the State Road Corporation.
