In yet another instance of vigilante justice, two kidnappers of the son of a businessman were beaten to death by angry residents at Mahnagani village in Bihar’s West Champaran district on Saturday.

“The lynching took place this morning when two persons riding on a motorcycle, who were escaping after kidnapping Kanchan Kumar, 15-year-old son of jeweller Brigesh Kumar, were overpowered by villagers after a hot chase,” District Superintendent of Police Bachhu Singh Meena said.

The incident came close on the heels of lynching of two persons in Patna on suspicion of being robbers on September 21 and slaying of 10 suspected thieves in Vaishali district two days later. This is reportedly the 3rd or 4th case of mob violence in Bihar.
