Commercial tax officers raided a cracker dealer’s warehouse located in a house owned by State Women's Commission Chairperson Pramila Nesargi in Chamarajpet and recovered crackers worth Rs 1.55 lakh.

Cracker traders H Jayachandra is Ms Nesargi’s brother.

He has been in this business for the last five decades.

On Monday, the tax officials raided his premises and imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 on the dealer. Later, the penalty was reduced to Rs 30,000.

Ms Nesargi told Deccan Herald: “My father obtained the dealer’s licence in 1938. After his demise, my brothers have been running the show. I don’t know anything about the raid.”
