Basavanahalli Morarji Desai government Residential School students have been selected for the zonal and state-level shuttle badminton tourney after putting up an out standing performance at the district-level sports tourney at Virajpete recently.
The boys and the girls team from the school secured first place in the High School level Shuttle Badminton tourney and have been selected for the state and zonal level tourney respectively.
The students were trained by Physical Education Teacher K L Lingananda and B K Chandrashekar.
The badminton team of G R Sunil, Sanju, Ravikumar, Deekshit, Shivakumar, Vishwanath, G S Sunil and Jeevan have played well under the leadership of their captain Manikanta.
Girls team comprising of Payaswini, Manasa, Sandhya, Shreeja, H S Shwetha, Leela, Lakshmi, Ranjitha and Asha was played well under the leadership of their captain T M Preetha.
