Foray into home segment
Bangalore based V3 Engineers Private Limited, leading manufacturer of modular workstations and allied products, recently announced its entry into the Home Segment. V3 will offer home furniture (kitchens, doors and wardrobes) under the brand name – V3 Home Zone. V3 has the capability to design, manufacture, market and install all its product offerings. While doors will be branded ‘Dorz’, kitchens and wardrobes have been christened ‘Élan’. Starting with a capacity to manufacture about 3.6 million doors, 4,500 kitchens and wardrobes per annum, V3 promises to be a formidable player in the highly competitive home segment. V3 plans to establish its own branded outlets throughout south India and is looking at revenue of about 200 crores in the next 3 years. The company is planning to open at least 30 outlets across the country in the next 18 months.
V3 Engineers is an innovative 17-year-old design-led company, operating from 1,20,000 sq ft state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure. The company was established in 1990 by three adept engineers with the basic temperament of providing quality and innovative products that deliver value for money. In the organised office space, in workstations alone, V3 has a market share of 8%, nationally.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Guru Prasad, Director, V3, said, “V3’s successful history and expertise in the office segment, with strong synergies in terms of production and design capabilities is the backbone of our foray into the Home Furniture category. We are positive that we will be able to replicate the success of office furniture, in the Home Furniture category as well. The foray is also our endeavour to offer products that suits an individual’s unique needs.”

The total size of the Indian furniture industry is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 350 billion (Source: KSA TECHNOPAK). Of this, the residential segment constitutes 60%. Given the growth rates in the construction sector the residential segment is projected to grow at a CAGR of 20%. The residential furniture market is estimated at Rs 210 billion and projected to grow at a CAGR of 20%. The need for standards and efficiency is moving the industry, the complete solutions way. The surging demand in the residential (housing sector) is forcing the builder/developer community, PMC and architects to derive standard, efficient, easy to implement and reliable solutions (modular, complete fit) in the segments – doors, windows, kitchens, storage cabinets and wardrobes.
Property expo
‘Property Gallery’ - the biggest property exhibition is being held at Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bangalore, on September 22 and 23, 2007. Sponsored by ‘Hiranandani’ from Chennai, the exhibition will be open from 10 am to 8 pm.
