Ten people died on the spot and ten others sustained serious injuries in two separate road accidents on Tuesday on national highway number 42 passing through Orissa.
Six of the ten who have been killed in the twin road mishaps belonged to a family from neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh.
Police said 12 people including women and children from Basna in Chhattisgarh were returning home from Puri when their vehicle rammed into a roadside tree, killing six including two children on the spot.
Similarly, four vegetable vendors died on the spot and four others sustained serious injuries when a truck ran over an auto-rickshaw standing on the roadside in Angul.
