German flag carrier Lufthansa Passenger Airlines on Thursday reaffirmed the importance of Bengaluru in its destination charts, making it the first city in India to host the airline’s premium economy offering.

The new premium economy class will be available from November 22, 2014 on few routes flown by the airline, including Bengaluru, besides Buenos Aires, Chicago, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Beijing, Sao Paolo, Seoul, Tokyo-Haneda and Washington DC.

The premium business class, priced 30 per cent more than the economy class, is placed between economy and business classes, offering seats with wider room, 50 per cent greater legroom and double armrests, among others.

Apart from the new seats, the airline will offer double the free baggage allowance to premium economy passengers, compared to economy passengers.
