Former President Dr Abdul Kalam known as the "People's President" was today laid to rest with full military honours.

Dr Kalam, also lovingly called the ''Missile Man'', passed away on Monday, while delivering a speech at IIM, Shillong.

Jaiprakash Rao, who was associated with Dr Kalam as protocol officer for nine years opens up about the esteemed scientist.  Kalam was a person, who could get the best out of the workforce and touched the lives of many, says Rao.

Rao, also says that Kalam was an extremely simple man, who would rather talk to the foreman or foundryman than to heads of institutions and would remember the smallest issues of those around him. Rao, has translated Dr Kalam's auto-biography Wings of Fire to Kannada.
