The CCB police on Saturday arrested two persons and seized 100 kg ganja worth Rs 35 lakh, three cellphones and a four-wheeler used to transport the banned substance.

The arrested were identified as Nataraj S Muttu, 25, and Sameerulla Shareef, 25, both residents of Hoskote in Bangalore Rural district, said the police.

The police had received a tip-off that a few persons had been transporting ganja from Hoskote to Bangalore via Kolar and that the gang involved in the distribution of ganja was planning to transport a huge quantity of the contraband.

A team of police personnel was deployed near KR Puram to keep a vigil.

The police intercepted the multiutility vehicle which was moving in a suspicious manner on Kolar-Bangalore Road and found 100 kg of ganja in it. The narcotic was packed in four bags.
