District Health Officer Dr Thimmappa said that out of the three samples collected, only one showed Coli form organization. “This sample was taken from the syntax tank from which the water is pumped to the overhead tank. This water was not satisfactory for potable purpose. However, this water was not used for drinking,” he said.

The other two sources were distribution of tap and the filtered water stored in a drum, which were fit for drinking, he said. He said that there was a possibility of the food being contaminated.

However, the PHI reports of the raw food collected from the factory along with blood and vomit samples are awaited. “We are waiting for the results to come. Once we get that we can take action against the people responsible,” he said.
