The neighbouring district Tamil Nadu has spent crores of rupees for developing the place as the popular tourism spot, which had invited wrath from the people of Karnataka for neglecting the spot. But the latest step by the tourism department has brought cheers among the people here.

MLA R Narendra, who visited the spot supervised the ongoing works. Later, speaking to the media, he directed the authorities concerned for speedy completion of the work.

Deputy Commissioner K Amaranarayana said to take up survey of the identified land and also take steps to set up GPS parking.

He also suggested to send a proposal to the forest department by filling up Form A.
He suggested to extend the watch tower to enable the tourists to have a complete view of the falls, which would attract more number of tourists and also construct steps at necessary places.

The tourists should be directed to use the newly constructed toilets at the spot and new toilets should be constructed with the money earned through them, he said.

Visit to Palar

Later Narendra and Amaranarayana visited the tribal settlement at Palar and interacted with the people. ZP member K Eshwar, Raviraj Narayan and others were present.
