A RSS backed organisation has raised objection to the use of English language in educational institutions, government departments and judiciary, demanding that government must allow citizens to use their mother tongue at these institutions.

The Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN), founded by a right-wing educationist and former RSS pracharak Dinanath Batra, also wants that English must not be a compulsory paper in any of the competitive examinations including the one conducted by the UPSC.

“We will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) to press our demands. In most of the government offices and educational institutions, English is the prime language for communication. The government must end the system of compulsory use of English,” the SSUN secretary Atul Kothari said .
