A woman with bullet wounds in the head was Monday found dead in a locked, abandoned stolen car here, said police.

The car carrying the body of the woman, aged around 25, was parked near Gurgaon Gramin Bank in Rajendra Park area before residents  spotted it around 9 a.m. Monday, a police officer said. "She was shot in the head," said the police officer. Some ornaments worn by the woman indicated that she could be married, he said.

Bijender Singh, chief of Rajendra Park police station, told IANS that the woman appeared to have been shot more than once.

"The body was found on the car's front seat, next to that of the driver, and the vehicle bore a fake registration number," he said. The car, owned by Brijlal of Jharsa village, was missing since Dec 24, 2012, from Sadar area of Gurgaon, he said.
