The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday suspended Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal as his bowling action was found to be illegal following an independent analysis.

“The International Cricket Council today (on Tuesday) confirmed that an independent analysis has found the bowling action of Pakistan’s off-spinner Saeed Ajmal to be illegal and, as such, the player has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect,” said the global cricketing body in a statement.

In the analysis, performed on August 25, the 36-year-old’s action revealed that all his deliveries exceeded the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under regulations.
