Narayanaswami Srinivasan’s hopes of chairing the Indian cricket board’s September 29 Annual General Meeting in Chennai suffered another setback as the Supreme Court on Thursday postponed the hearing of the case between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Cricket Association of Bihar.

The next hearing of the case will be known on Saturday when the apex court finalises the schedule for next week.

“The case was scheduled for Wednesday but it came up today (Thursday) very late around 3.40 p.m. Since the hearing was not possible in 20 minutes, it was postponed. The next date of hearing will be known on Saturday,” BCCI counsel Radha Rangaswamy said.

Sawani’s report

The fate of the cricketers implicated in the IPL spot-fixing scandal would be up for discussion when the BCCI’s disciplinary committee meets here on Friday to deliberate on Anti-Corruption Unit chief Ravi Sawani’s report on the scam that shamed the Twenty20 league.

The one-man Sawani panel investigated allegations that the three Royals players conceded a pre-determined number of runs per over in exchange for money during the IPL this year.
