SUMMER CAMPS

Art courses

The Ale School of Arts n Fine Arts is organising a summer camp during the months of April and May. The children will be able to get lessons in Yakshagana, guitar, keyboard, folk dance, Sugama Sangeetha, drawing/painting, craft and drama as well. Painting, sculpture

Visual Art Workshops is organising its 8th annual creative painting and sculpture workshops for the young between six and 16 years. The workshop will be held from April 20 to May 1 at Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, Bull Temple Road. Call: 26890006/ 94480-82303.

Art programmes

Global Art India, an international art programme for children, will be conducting special summer courses from April 15, for one month at its centres in Banashankari, JP Nagar and Sarjapur Road. Each participant will also get a Global Art t-shirt and a multipurpose creative kit. The Global Art programmes are meant not only to encourage a child’s drawing skills and artistic abilities, but also aim to improve concentration and observation abilities, instill confidence and self-esteem in children, states a release. Fine arts

A summer camp for talented children is organised by Spoorthi Kala Kendra, a fine arts and craft school. Classical music, drama, western dance, maskmaking, fabric painting, magic show and memory games will be among the things taught. The classes will be held from 10 am to 2 pm. Residential camps

Chinmaya Mission is organising residential summer camps for children. The duration of the camps will be seven days. It will be held at Chinmaya Sandeepany Ashram, Chokkahalli, Medihal Post, Kolar District. Separate camps are organised for Junior (Classes IV–VI) and Senior (Class VII–X) age groups. The junior camp will be held from April 14 to 20 and the senior camp from April 23 to 29. The themes for the camps are `Fly high with Hanuman’ and `Ctrl-Shift-Up’. Learn skill camp

Benson Town branch of YMCA is organising a ‘Learn Skill Camp’ from April 12 to May 12. Free summer camp

Jagruthi Nagarika Vedike, Jayanagar will conduct a free summer camp for children hailing from Bangalore South. The camp, from April 14 to 29 is for those between 7 and 15 years. The camp will be held at MES Play ground, opp Telephone Exchange, 9th Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar. The Sangeetha Gayana Federation is organising a free summer coaching camp cum competition programme from April 20 to May 1. Skills improvement

Shree Lakshmi Speciality Services will organise a `Student development’ summer camp for students above 14 years from April 12. The camp, to be held between 10 am and 1 pm, aims at improving study skills like reading, improving concentration, enhancing long term memory, eliminating stress and overcoming fear and anxiety during exams. Spiritual education

The Sant Shri Asaramji Ashram will conduct a free two-month programme under the guidance of experienced sadhaks for children between 7 and 16 years. The programme will begin on April 7. It will be held on Saturday between 9 and 10.30 am or Sunday between 3 and 4.30 pm. The interaction is aimed at providing spiritual and moral education. Skills training

Sail Training Centre, a centre for organisation and personality development, will conduct a summer course covering effective communication, public speaking, leadership skills, time and study management, comedy in theatre, photography, cookery and yoga for children.
