Arrogant auto drivers

Spitting on roads

It is shocking to know that people in the City spit on the roads making it inconvenient for the pedestrians to walk on the roads and footpaths. The sputum and spittle on the road will spread many infectious diseases and those who walk on the roads are at a risk to catch these diseases. The authorities should realise the importance of the matter and action should be taken against such people. It’s hightime we get more aware of the health hazards many of our habits lead to.

Arrogant drivers

Auto drivers’ call for strike recently seeking fulfillment of various demands is utterly ridiculous. Their arrogance, refusal to drive the passengers to their destination and cheating can not be explained in words. As a passenger who has been depending mostly on autos for nearly four decades, I have had very bitter experiences from them on many an occasions. Even in emergency, most of them do not oblige to come. The situation gets worse in the night and if there is rain.

When this is the reality, do the auto drivers deserve any sympathy? When they do not care for the road rules and refuse to attend to the needs of the public, why should the Government and public support the strike that causes a lot of inconvenience to everyone?

In a way the strike is a blessing in disguise, because the roads in Bangalore will be congestion free on that day.

HELPLINE

I am a 55-year-old male (hospital N0.282315) who has been undergoing dialysis for the past 16 months. My doctors at Manipal Hospital have advised me to undergo kidney transplantation at the earliest. As the kidney transplantation costs a lot, I am not in a position to bear the expenses on my own. I request philanthropists to render financial assistance which may be sent via cheques or DD to Church of South India Hospital, No.4, Hazarath Kambal Posh Road, Bangalore-51 by indicating my name and hospital number.
