We all live our dreams… and make efforts to turn them into reality. In our heart of hearts, we want to trust our own strengths.
It is at the moment of crucial decisions that our destiny is shaped. Unfortunately for too many, all hope dissolves just after failure. Here life’s quest should be to restore the unaccomplished and to develop the power to face all odds.
As you are targeting CAT, it is very important for students to frame a proper strategy. Infact it would be much better to frame their study materials, as CAT is not just another exam; on attempting the test, you realise that the test is well-designed and the exam is fairly standardised in format. It is set to test you on fire, but that doesn’t mean one can’t crack it. All you need is to figure out a few general points and you too can bell the CAT.
Understand the format
Mathematics and English are the main focus. Logical and Verbal Reasoning are what candidates should have on their finger tips. Like most exams, good study material, study frame, group-study and some coaching are all mandatory. However, due to CAT being one of the older MBA entrance exams, a lot of the study material is available. Then again, reading is what counts. Try to cultivate a reading habit; start reading on a variety of topics; be open to all kinds of knowledge. It is considered as the most scoring part of the test. Conceptual understanding is a must. Moreover, one needs to understand that simply getting to the right answer is not enough and it is better to focus on the right pattern and concentrate on the speed meter.
Identity is destiny
Analyse yourself and discover the ‘self power’ within. It is the route to success. Be proactive and confident while giving presentations and in group discussions. The importance of Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD&PI) in MBA cannot be ignored at all. Candidates should train themselves accordingly so that they gain the maximum out of their efforts. It all helps to level your self-confidence, which is what drives you to destiny.
Practice and practice
It’s boring to remind students that practice makes a man perfect; but this is the only route to crack any test. And when it comes to CAT, the mother of all tests, there are only three short cuts: Practice, Practice and Practice. At this moment you should take as many Prac-CATs as you can. Plan your strategy, set time limits for each section individually and surely this will make you a winner.
Getting dressed
Believe in your ‘self’ because you are the one who has to face it all. Coaching classes don’t have the magic stick, they can best guide you, and the rest is the candidates’ own determination and confidence.
