Kannada film directory

Film publicist M G Lingaraj has brought out the third edition of the ‘Cinema-TV Directory’ under the aegis of Nandini Publications recently to cater to the demands of the entertainment industry in Karnataka.

Spurred by the success of his earlier ventures, Lingaraj has brought out the directory, a useful handbook, this time in English.

Film producer S A Chinne Gowda released the directory at a simple function in the City recently. He handed over the first copy of the directory’s English edition to B Suresha, secretary of Karnataka Television Association.

Actress Tara, who was also present on the occasion, said the need to publish a handbook of this kind had become necessary for both cinema and television media. Gowda said the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce would buy 500 copies of the new directory.

Actor-producer Madan Patel said the directory would come of help to those producers who come from outside the State to make films in Kannada.

Actor Shivadhwaj said Lingaraj’s earlier directory had helped him bag a role in Malayalam cinema.

The directory contains more than 4,000 telephone numbers of personnel associated with the entertainment industry. The directory is priced at Rs 200.

Lingaraj’s friends and colleagues Shivashankar, D V Sudheendra, Nagendra were also present.

The copies of the directory are available at Sapna Book House, Gandhinagar; Geetha Book House, Balepet; Shruthi Stores, 2nd Main Gandhinagar and Sampreetha Communications, Ist D Block, Dr Rajkumar Road, Rajajinagar.

B’lorean wins microlight

Scullers, a premium casual apparel brand, had recently organised a unique “experiential” promotion: ‘win an aircraft.’
