Street food of Vietnam
If you’re a fan of Vietnamese food, Blue Ginger at The Taj West End is all set to offer the discerning palate some deliciously excellent street food. With this, the Taj has once again reinforced its reputation for introducing new food concepts to India. Starting from Oct 8 to Oct 16, Blue Ginger will host ‘The Street Foods of Vietnam’.
The concept of ‘Street Food or Market Food’ originated on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City. Early morning, food stalls appear on the side walks in front of old shop houses.
Clusters of tiny chairs and tables surround a steaming hot cauldron of soup set on an open flame and soon the chairs will be filled with people huddled over their morning bowl of pho, a tasty beef broth served with rice noodles and fresh herbs. Today, Vietnamese cuisine is referred to as "the nouvelle cuisine of Asia." And indeed, with the importance given to rice, wheat, legumes, fresh herbs, minimal use of oil, and treatment of meat as a condiment, Vietnamese Street food has finally come of age.
