'Tigers responding to treatment'

"All the infected tigers are showing positive response to the treatment including Minchu who appears to be slightly better but is under intensive care and observation. The overall situation is under control," the park's Executive Director Taggore Millo said in a statement.

Twelve veterinary doctors are attending to the ailing wild cats round-the-clock. Minchu, which is suffering from Kidney infection was diagnosed by well-known veterinarian Dr G Pampapathi. He is said to have suggested to keep the animal on fluids.

In the meantime, Member Secretary, Zoo Authority of Karnataka and Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, M N Jaykumar said that the animals are in good condition, including Minchu.
