India nudges Lanka to let in aid vessel
NEW DELHI, DHNS:

India on Wednesday nudged Sri Lanka to let the ship ‘MV Captain Ali’ to unload relief materials meant for displaced Tamils.

New Delhi’s appeal was conveyed by External Affairs Minister S M Krishna when a high-level delegation of the Sri Lankan Government met him in South Block. The aid has been sent by Tamil diaspora in Europe through an NGO called “Act Now”. The ship had arrived in Chennai last week after it was turned away by the Lankan Navy. “The Sri Lankan delegation agreed to our suggestion and these would now be routed to Sri Lanka through the Indian Red Cross,” said Krishna.
