Any argument formulated to explain plausible reasons behind such a decision defies logic. When space is allocated for food courts, cafeterias, shopping areas, lack of provision for toilets seems inexplainable.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Chief PRO B L Y Chavan said “There will be no toilets inside the stations, however, we shall make provision for the same outside the stations.”

Further, if Reach-1 of the Metro project meets its deadline, then BMRCL will have eight trains operating with three cars each and with an approximate carrying capacity of over 950 passengers.

He said that Metro would take 14 minutes to travel a distance of 7 km between Byappanahalli and Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, the Corporation is yet to decide on the duration of stoppage at each station.

Explaining this Chavan said “We will not decide on stoppage time until the entire Reach -1 is completed.”

Facts

* Eight trains with three cars each to operate
* Carrying capacity to be approximately 980 passengers
* Stoppage time yet to be decided
