Justice Sabhahit to hear MLAs case

After the split opinion in connection with the disqualification of MLAs, Chief Justice J S Khehar has entrusted this matter to justice V G Sabhahit, who on Wednesday will hear the petition.

Sabhahit, a senior judge in the High Court at present hears matters pertaining to writ appeals, habeas corpus petitions and appeal against Central and State Administrative tribunal orders.

Chief Justice J S Khehar, on Monday upheld the speaker order of disqualification on October 10, while Justice N Kumar  had set aside the order.

Justice V G Sabhahit was appointed as additional judge of the High Court on February 21, 2000 and he became a permanent judge on June 11, 2001.
