The CID sleuths produced him before the judge Roopa at her residence on Wednesday afternoon. The sleuths charged him under 201 of the IPC (Destruction of evidence) and arrested on Tuesday evening.

Srinithya Bhaktananda Swami of Dhyanapeetham accused the police of having taken him into custody without warning. He alleged he was not granted bail though the charge 201 is bailable, he told reporters at the Ashram. Bhaktananda Swami said: “The entire FIR against Nithyananda is heading for a quash in all likelihood by this month end as the CID sleuths have not found any evidence against him.”

He claimed a force is working to defame Nithyananda and his ashram as he achieved so much in his early thirties which no other swamiji achieved in Karnataka. However, he refused to disclose name of the force.
