Groups clash over sharing parking fee
Bangalore, DH News Service:

Clashes broke out between two gangs at JP Nagar over sharing of illegal parking fee on Thursday night.

It is learnt that one gang comprising Ananth, Ramachandra, Chandra and Babu from Pragathipura clashed with a rival gang from Gorguntepalya that included Prashanth, Appu and Stalin alias Chennappa. Their rivalry was over their ‘jurisdiction’ to collect parking fee illegally from the vehicle owners, and had clashed earlier also.

On Thursday about 11.30 pm, Babu called Chandra to come to the 2A bus stop. When he reached the spot, he found Prashanth, Appu, Stalin and Guru allegedly assaulting Ananth and Ramachandra with stones and sharp-edged weapons. As Chandra and Babu intervened, they all fled the scene.

A seriously wounded Ananth and Ramachandra were admitted to the Victoria Hospital where their condition is said to be critical.

The JP Nagar police registered a case against Prashanth, Appu, Stalin and Guru under IPC Section 307 for attempt to murder.

8 held for theft

The Upparpet police have nabbed an 8-member gang from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, which had stolen gold ornaments from a traveller in a Bangalore-bound bus from Hyderabad last year.

Police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 12 lakh from a financier in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

The arrested are Inam (25), Chhota Chowdhari (32), Iman (33), Abdulla Memon (42), Showkin (32) and Abdul Rehman (21) all from Ghaziabad, Mohammed Taslim (42) from New Delhi and Abdul Azim from Maruthinagar in Bangalore.

Police said, Chhota Chowdhari in connivance with Aijaz Anwar, Bharatbhushan and Pappu had travelled from Hyderabad to Bangalore in the bus in December last year.

They followed one Mahendra Agrawal who was coming to Bangalore with 2 kg of gold ornaments in a suitcase.

On the way when Mahendra Agrawal in the bus was asleep at night, these criminals stealthily took his suitcase, took out all the gold ornaments and managed to put water bottle and some clothes weighing two kilograms so as to leave no doubt in Agrawal’s mind that the weight of the suitcase has reduced.

Later, somewhere on the way the thieves got down and vanished.

The criminals later sold some of the gold ornaments and mortgaged the remaining jewellery in Meerut. Police recovered 900 grams of gold ornaments from the financier.

Traffickers nabbed

Six people allegedly involved in the flesh trade were nabbed by the Parappana Agrahara police recently.

The accused are identified as Sukanya, Rathna, Anniyamma, Suresh, Suvaish and Suresh.

The police recovered Rs 1,000 from them.
