Mysore on the boil
DH News Service,Mysore:

Sporadic incidents of stabbing broke out in riot-hit Mysore on Friday evening as district BJP Yuva Morcha president Giridhar battled for his life in a local hospital after being assaulted by a group of men.

Even as the police swept through different parts of the city, arresting 50 persons for their alleged involvement in Thursday’s clashes, Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and R V Deshpande, who reached here on Friday, demanded a judicial inquiry into the clashes.

Concerned over the seriousness of the inter-group clashes that rocked some parts of the town on Thursday, senior police officials led by Director-General of Police Ajai Kumar Singh held a closed-door meeting to chalk out a strategy to bring the situation under control. Three persons were killed when groups clashed over desecration of a place of worship in Udaygiri.

Singh said the “government will do everything to bring the situation under control”. But his assurances were apparently not enough as residents of riot-stricken Udaygiri, Kyathamaranahalli, Gayathripuram, Gandhinagar and other areas continued to leave the town for safer havens.

Two companies of Rapid Action Force, numbering about 300, including 22 women personnel, arrived here late Thursday night from Coimbatore. A peace march, led by Armed Reserve DCP Shivanna, was held in the riot-hit streets of the town. It helped contain the clashes from spreading to other parts.

According to police sources, at least 30 to 50 families of lower middle class background vacated their homes to take refuge in other parts of the town. They used push-carts, auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers as modes of transport to move out from their homes. Most of these people are migrant labourers from Kerala and Tamil Nadu who had come to Mysore in search of work.

Though the district administration denied there were any stabbing incidents, eight people, with stab wounds and injuries sustained because of other forms of assault, were admitted at Bibi Ayesha and K R hospitals. Doctors in these two hospitals confirmed the injured, who were stabbed in Gandhi Nagar, were undergoing treatment under their care.

Among the injured, the condition of one Surendra (27) was stated to be extremely serious. He was stabbed in the back by unidentified scooter-borne miscreants.

Although a surgery was performed on him, he continues to be in a critical condition. Surendra’s aunt, Bharathi, said her nephew’s back was “sliced” in the knife attack.

Apart from setting up a helpline 1077 at a central location in the town, the district administration has made boarding and lodging arrangements at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry for families who might prefer staying away from Udaygiri. However, no families have availed of the facility yet.

Empty vessels make more noise, i tell you i have seen people with good knowledge never resort to voilence, be it muslims or hindus or christains, only few sick religious leaders having personal gains propagate that. I am sure there are lot of christain brothers and hindu brothers who have tremendous knowledge never comment so. Mr. Robert, find solutions, try to evaluate cases without self interest, why it happens, i know in india its because of politican gains, poverty, illiteracy, half knowledge, unemployment, if we can solve the above then our nation will prosper like any developed nations in the world.

Robert, it seems you are dividing the two group, similarly like few handfull british ruled india by dividing Hindus and Muslims and then creating Pakistan and Confusion with Kashmir, Definately i dont blame you, faults lies many times with muslims, but they are more than 150 million you can neglect them, instead try to absorb and correct the faults. Mr. Robert you seems to be little ignorant or have 50 % knowledge. Even we have done such mistakes in the past do you know empty vessels make more noise. I request the leaders to give muslims a share in political and employment, Few muslims who are feeling alienated need to absorb within the main stream to avoid riots. muslims can perform,Take examples from cricket where you see The pathans, khans pulling out with their heart out, or bollywood where shahrukh khan is accepted as king khan by all indians, wipro chairperson azeem premji doing marvellously well. Our nuclier misile father ex president of india abdul kalam. Lets think like indians, definately we are hindus, muslims and christains but we should not use force to change faith or by giving monetary benefit.

It seems that Congress workers started riots to badmouth BJP. The way I look at it is that Sangh Parivar outfits has no interests in starting riots as they are ruling the state already. Congress can only profit from such incidents. Jaffer Sharief who has lost popularity, may have done this to impress his Congress bosses.

First of all let me congratulate Sane citizen for his jawbreaking reply to the post of our brother Mr Robert. It is quite clear that what he was referring was not from Quran but from some other book. Mr Robert I sincerely advise you to read Quran with English Translation and you will come to know what is in it. Dont see the followers or listen what we say but read the book on your own and judge by yourself. I am sure Allah the Almighty will Guide you. Neither Hinduisim, or Christianity or Islam preach bloodshed or hatred. Only people like Mr Robert who spread this as they themselves are the true satans. All religions have taught to defend there honour and fight only for the just cause. No religion religion teaches to kill each other and die.

Why the fanatics desecrated an holy place? Their intention is clear. They want communal riots. Find them, arrest them, trial them and shoot them in public. Government should do that.
