'Resolve infighting to win polls'

He was speaking at a programme organised to felicitate the newly appointed District Unit President at Congress Bhavan in the city recently.

Expressing optimism of making a mark in the next elections, Shivaram said that the party has two MLAs in the district. However, we could do better if all the members work together, he added.

Observing that both the BJP and JD(S) are involved in making allegations against each other, he said that the Congress has still not lost its morality.

With the Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat elections fast approaching, he said that party should resolve infightings and ensure that their party members win the elections.

Inviting the party workers to participate in large numbers during the the felicitation programme for KPCC President Dr Parameshwara, Shivaram said that former leaders and MLAs of the party will be brought together to steer the party towards victory.

MLA Y N Rudreshgowda, former MLA S M Anand, Zulfikar Ali, Fazalur Rehman, H K Mahesh, Mahendra and others were present.

Unfinished differences

Despite the appointment of a new district unit president, the differences among party members  was visible as the former President MLA A Manju faction, who refrained from participating in the programme.

Shivarama and MLA A Manju factions had openly fought about the appointment recently causing delay in District Unit President being named.
