New Delhi, Dec 12, (PTI):

A DVD collection of Charlie Chaplin's movies, including gems like 'The Kid', 'The Gold Rush' and 'City Lights', is being launched in India for the first time.

Eagle home entertainment in collaboration with the MK2 group is making the collection of Chaplin movies available in Indian market in HD.

The pack features a collection of full feature films and numerous short films made by the genius, a release said.

The biggest name in the era of silent comedy, Chaplin introduced the format of acting without words. It was after the First World War that he became one of the best known film stars.

He used mime, slapstick and other visual comedy routines, and continued well into the era of the talkies. Chaplin's working span in entertainment lasted for the span of 75 years.
