Designed exclusively for women, the show is different from other cookery shows.
Unlike the usual cookery programmes, Oggarane Dabbi will not be shot in an artificial set. The crew members of the show will travel to different places exploring local cuisine in its very place of origin.

A participant will cook at her home using the ingredients available in her kitchen.
“Our crew members are already shooting in Mangalore and have got many interesting recipes. Shooting in the participant’s kitchen has many advantages. A woman feels comfortable and there will be a natural ambience,” says Rajesh Shetty, the non-fiction head of Zee Kannada. The show is inspired by a popular cookery show, called Anjarali Petti, in Tamil.

Oggarane Dabbi has five segments including a tasting session at a famous restaurant. Another segment is Dhideer Tindi, where a famous chef will talk about quick meals.

The last segment is Ammana Kairuchi, which will talk about simple dishes from the local cuisine. “For the last segment, we have roped in Lalitha, who runs a restaurant in Bangalore and has rich experience in cooking.

The specialty of the show is that we will provide tips on how to convert leftover items into a tasty dish,’’ informs Aparna, the creative head of the programme. Likhit Shetty will be anchoring the show.
