The orders were passed by a vacation bench comprising Justice Rammohan Reddy and Justice Arvind Kumar when a petition filed by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Corporator Manjunath and two others seeking setting aside a clause of the code of conduct for polls making it applicable to urban areas came up for hearing.
Based on that the court passed the interim orders as per the suggestions put forward by the SEC and the state government.
