"We have arrested Jatinder Kumar alias Bittu, who is in his late twenties, and Bhura Ram, 45, today (Saturday). Bittu runs a tea stall while Bhura is a scooter mechanic here. We are raiding different places in neighbouring towns to nab the remaining four accused," investigating officer Ramesh Kumar, who is station house officer (SHO) of the Narnaul city police station, told IANS.
"Police have also gathered some vital clues and have made sketches of the accused on the basis of inputs given by the victim. We are also interrogating the arrested accused and very soon we will nab the others," he added.
The victim is an MBA student from Jaipur and had come to Narnaul, 300 km from Chandigarh, to market products of a company with which she was working part-time.
The victim was allegedly raped by six men after one of the accused, Mir Singh, called her to a market here Thursday to show the products.
In her complaint to the police late Friday, the victim said she was served tea by one of the accused after which she fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she realized that she had been sexually assaulted.
"We have registered a case of rape against six people and further investigations are on," said Narnaul district police chief Maharaj Singh.
