Students have to visit http://www.iisc.ernet.in/ug for the online application form.

Before applying online, students have to first obtain a demand draft (DD) for Rs 400 drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore,’ payable at Bangalore. Students falling under SC/ST or physically handicapped (PH) quotas need to obtain a demand draft for Rs 200 only.

All students should have a scanned or soft copy of their passport size photographs in one of the following formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, TIF. After submitting the online application, a printed copy of the filled in online application, along with the DD for the required amount, must be sent to the institute.

Those interested in the traditional ‘offline’ application, should send a request for an application form, along with two slips containing their address. Students will have to shell out more for the offline application: Rs 300 for SC/ST/PH candidates and Rs 600 for others.

The last date for submitting the online applications is March 25. The accompanying documents and DD have to reach IISc before March 31.

Admissions for the course will be based on marks secured in any of the following national examinations: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), IIT-JEE and AIEEE. Under KVPY, admissions will be based on the student’s performance in one of the three streams in the years mentioned herewith: Stream SA - 2009, Stream SB - 2010 and Stream SB+2 - 2010.
