Adulterated diesel sale: 5 arrested

The accused are - Arun, Rajesh, Josh Mery Jacob, the owner of a petrol bunk in Byatarayanapura on Mysore Road, Nizamuddin and Kishore. Three accountants of the petrol bunk are absconding.

A CCB team was constituted after complaints that the sale  of adulterated diesel was rampant in the City. The police were tipped off that the adulterated diesel was being supplied to a bunk in Byatarayanapura.

Density of good quality diesel will be between 812 to 814. When tested, the density of the diesel in the tanker was between 820 to 870. One of the accused, Nizamuddin, used to add kerosene to the diesel and supply the same to Jacob’s bunk, said the police.
