Indian embassy in Egypt celebrates World Hindi Day
The Indian Embassy here celebrated the World Hindi Day with Egyptian students displaying their mastery in the language.
During the celebration on January 10 at the Maulana Azad Centre for India Culture, Egyptian students studying Hindi at the centre performed songs, recited poems and vignettes to demonstrate their mustering of the language.
Sumaya, one of the students, says the decision to learn the Hindi language stems from pure love of the Hindi culture and movies.
"When you are moved by the romance and emotions in the movies you just yearn to know what the actors are saying and share the sensations on first-hand-basis, not through an intermediate language," she said.
The Maulana Azad Centre for India Culture here organises Hindi and Urdu language courses for Egyptians at their premises. Around 75 students attend the courses in each of the languages every year.
