The peacocks were found dead yesterday on the outskirts of Indiranagar and Gopalpur villages under Elkathurthy police limits, nearly 50 kms from here, Karimnagar Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Priyanka Verghese said.
The cause of the death might be consumption of contaminated water from nearby agricultural fields, where farmers use a lot of insecticides for crop protection, she said.
Postmortem reports are awaited and investigations are on, only after which a clear picture will emerge, the DFO said.
