Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Last Updated 10 July 2009, 17:26 IST

Two years after the Transformers hit theatres comes Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with much more action.

Shia LaBeouf and sexy Megan Fox return as the love couple Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes caught in the battle between the Autobots and the Deceptions.
In this edition, Sam goes to the university to pursue higher studies, but before his first class ends he is called back to the battlefront as the Deceptions led by Starscream and Megatron are hell bent on having their revenge by bringing darkness over the Earth forever.

Even as the situation demands the need for a united front of US army and the Autobots (led by Maximus Prime) the national security adviser holds the robots responsible for the war thrusts on humans. In the midst of these Sam, Mikaela and Leo (Sam’s pushy roommate) are pursued by the Deceptions until they finally end up in the Egyptian desert where the mother of all battles takes place.

Despite the serious theme involved, director Michael Bay and his team of scriptwriters manage to tickle the funny bone every now and then. Sam’s emotional mother (Julie White) who is heartbroken at seeing her son going away to the university is particularly funny.

There are also numerous jibes at politicians and their lack of foresight.

The movie also boasts of one of the best sound and visual effects. The editing and the technical settings clearly show that enormous amount of work has gone into this film. The battle scenes with pyramids in the background are a perfect work of art.

As it should be the casting is also awesome. Getting Megan Fox back was enough to get enough audience.

Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel also did their job quite well. Model Isabel Lucas also make her screen appearance felt.

Overall, Transformers 2 is forceful and you can enjoy the battle for over two and half hours.
