Yeligar, Varsha triumph

Carrying far too many guns, the second seed Yeligar hardly broke sweat in easing past the third-seeded Prasad 21-14, 21-14 at the Sadashivanagar Club courts.

Varsha Belwadi scored a remarkable come-from-behind victory over Nischitha GM to bag the women’s singles title. After surrendering the opening game 20-22, the second seed held her nerve in a closely-fought second game to seal it 24-22 before strolling past Nischitha 21-13 in the decider.
