Flying Bulls to touch down today

Last Updated 03 February 2011, 19:23 IST

An integral part of Red Bull’s philosophy –– “Red Bull gives you wings” –– the four Zlin 50LX aircraft, whose breathtaking displays will be featured for the first time in India, will be assembled from Friday.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, a team member said: “The pilot briefing is scheduled for 4 pm tomorrow (Friday) and we will start assembling the aircraft after that.”

He said that the assembling will also take place on the subsequent days between 4 pm and 8 pm. The Flying Bulls team, led by 62-year-old woman pilot Radoslava, will perform on all the five days of Aero India 2011 (February 9-13).

The four-member Czech Republic-based team’s signature mirror flight manoeuvre will be the show stopper. “We are glad we can perform that here,” the team member said, adding that the team had to take special permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for it.

“The leading aircraft flies upside down, immediately above a second aircraft flying right side up, mirroring the leading aircraft’s flight figures,” he said about the manoeuvre.
