Ramdas Pai, Yogish Bhat honoured in M'lore
Dr Ramdas Madhav Pai is a diamond whose contribution to education has been recognised worldwide and N Yogish Bhat is an efficient and honest politician. Both sons of Konkani have made their community proud and are a role model for youth, said Ryan International Group of Institutions MD Grace Pinto.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony organised by Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation, in honour of Manipal University Chancellor Dr Ramdas Pai for being honoured with Padma Bhushan and MLA Yogish Bhat for being elected as the Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, she said persistence, perseverance and patience are the three apt words that define Dr Pai. “I have carried the tradition started by my father. This institution has excelled because of team work,” said Dr Ramdas Madhav Pai. “Konkani language and folklore should be encouraged. Importance should be given to education,” he stressed.
“Yogish Bhat is a humanist. He is a hallmark of simplicity and is a dedicated politician,” said Konkani Bhasaha Mandal President Fr Eric Crasta after felicitating Yogish Bhat.
“I want to make Mangalore the number one city in State,” said N Yogish Bhat who spoke about his vision of making Mangalore a tourism hub.
