Students were given topics that reflected the current affairs as well as the curriculum. The topics included the Union Budget, the Lokayukta, TV advertising in India and new media.
Each team consisted of four participants - two presenters and two researchers. The teams were given 17 minutes, which included 10 minutes for presentation and 7 minutes for taking questions. The winners were awarded Rs 2,000, while the runners-up Rs 1,000. The Printers (Mysore) Limited, publishers of Deccan Herald and Prajavani, sponsored the event.
