Rs 10 lakh crore target for next GIM
After successfully conducting the Global Investors Meet (GIM) in 2010, attracting investments to the tune of Rs 5 lakh crore, the Karnataka government will hold the next edition of the meet in June 2012, State Large and Medium-scale Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani said on Friday.
Addressing a gathering at a CII event, Nirani said, “The event had boosted the confidence of investors in the State, resulting in 458 new projects with an investment of Rs 1.32 lakh crore which have been approved after the meet,” adding that the focus is on the projects’ implementation.
Out of the 389 MoUs signed at GIM, implementation has begun in respect of 215 projects, while 14 have been commissioned.
