<p>Tosha, daughter of local businessman Sunil Thakkar, was murdered on March 9 and her body was found stuffed in a suitcase near a canal in Sydney in Australia.<br /><br />Her mortal remains reached the Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport at around 3 AM and were brought to her residence in Bajwada locality before being consigned to flames at a crematorium in Karelibag area.<br /><br />Hundreds of people including BJP MP Balkrishna Shukla, local MLA Bhupendra Lakhwala, former health minister Nalin Bhatt joined her funeral procession.<br /><br />Tosha shared a house with the accused teenager Daniel Stani-Reginald, an Australian of Sri Lankan origin, who was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting and killing her.<br /><br />Thakkar was studying accounting at the Sydney College of Business and IT, which collaborates with Southern Cross University, and was a permanent resident of Australia.<br /><br />Thakkar had migrated to Australia about two years ago and was in the last semester of a post-graduate accounting degree. She was planning to return to India when she graduated.<br /><br />Terming the incident as unfortunate, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna had said that India was monitoring the investigations in the case.</p>
