<p> Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters after Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa met him here that the Centre had no problem in providing coal as the proposed power project in Chattisgarh was pit-head (located close to coal mine). <br /><br />Regarding coal supply to the thermal power projects at Kudigi, Gulbarga, Edlapur, Yermarus and Bellary unit 3, Jaiswal said he would not make any commitment owing to constrains like environment clearance.<br /><br />Yeddyurappa, along with Energy minister Shobha Karandlaje and MPs from Karnataka, met the Union minister to seek the allocation of sufficient coal to power projects in the State. <br /><br />Karnataka signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chhattisgarh government in 2008 to set up a 1,200 MW thermal power project to augment generating capacity at lower costs. The pit-head station with two 600 MW units is proposed to be established in Godhna in Janjgir district. It is expected to be completed by October, 2012.</p>
